Creative Director – Eugene
Eugene was born in Latvia in artistic family. His mother is the local wedding dress maker so Eugene spent his childhood surrounded by fabrics and mannequins. It is where an idea to become a hairstylist was born.His first client was his mum, Eugene was playing with her hair and experimenting different styles until she decided to send him off to a local hairdressing college to develop his talent and skills in order to become a successful hairstylist.
When Eugene was 16 years old he got his first job in the hair salon back in Riga (Latvia) where he was assisting other hairdressers and dreaming about styling models at international fashion shows. In 2009 his dream came true…
After moving to England, Eugene got selected to be a part of prestigious “Cult team” by Sebastian Professionals, where he was heavily involved in different fashion events such as London Fashion Week, therefore hard work and many hours of training paid off. Eugene also became a co-owner and Artistic director of “eye’candy” an award winning hair salon in East Midlands from 2008 – 2011. In Addition to that, he became a regional finalist for well-known Well Trend Vision 2010.After rainy UK in 2011 he decided to move to sunny Australia and experience different lifestyle Down Under. Currently Eugene is a proud co-owner of luxurious salon on Main Beach, Gold Coast called Ette Studio, where he is pampering his clients and sharing his international experience
Salon Manager – Kristina
Kristina moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney (via Europe) in 2013 to complete her MBA at Bond University. Owning her own business was always her dream and upon graduating in May 2015 that dream was realised when she partnered up with her now business partner Eugene to open up Ette Studio.
Kristina’s business acumen and savvy attention to detail is evident in the design and fitout of the salon. Breathtaking design, high quality finishes and comfortable surroundings, from the moment you enter the front door you are transported to a world of luxury and pampering, with the finest details materialised through Kristina’s vision.
Whilst Kristina is instrumental in ensuring that Ette Studio’s customers are comfortable, Euguene is free to do what he does best and create his masterpieces with creative flair.
Senior Stylist – Chantelle
Chantelle Lightbody is a Gold Coast trained senior stylist, who has been practising hairdressing for the past 12 years. Ironically, the beginning of Chantelle’s career stemmed in this very same location of the salon twelve years ago and today she feels at home being part of the Ette Studio’s team.
Chantelle is qualified in all areas of hairdressing with a great understanding of colour correction and how to recreate new, fresh and modern styles. The training and ongoing education is very important to Chantelle. She has attended many workshops and is up to date with her knowledge of the newest and upcoming trends of the hair industry and fashion, domestically and abroad. This year Chantelle took part at Platform Society, where she had an opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise on the stage with other piers of the hair industry.
From early days in career Chantelle has participated in various events, such as Gold Coast Fashion Week 2006 as a hairstylist of the L’Oreal team and Undress Runway in Brisbane 2016 as a part of Urban Tribe creative team, just to name a few.In addition to hair colouring and styling, Chantelle gets creative with bridal and occasional makeup. Bridal upstyling is another passion of hers. Over the past 12 years Chantelle made happy over 400 brides and wedding guests by making their hair and makeup looking beautiful on their special day. Chantelle connects on a personal level with all of her clients and every time they walk out from the salon feeling wonderful about themselves, she feels very proud of her work that she has accomplished.
Senior Stylist – Brett
Brett has had a huge passion for the hair most of his adult life. During his first years in the hairdressing industry Brett’s passion and skills were recognised by winning Apprentice of the Year 2009 award at TAFE Northern Rivers, NSW.
Brett continues to strive and for longer than 8 years in the industry he mastered a wide range of hair techniques some of them are fashion and modern cuts, razor cuts, foil highlights and lowlights, fashion colour, and colour correction. Brett believes in continual education and strives to stay at the forefront of his field with his knowledge of new products and services available in order to provide excellent service to his clientele. This year he showcased his talent to other successful hairdressers at Platform society event organised by Conceptual Brands.
Having grown up in the Region of Byron Bay, Brett has a relaxed and bubbly personality and always knows how to put every client at ease and create pleasant environment for them. By listening to his clients and understanding their needs, he delivers outstanding and creative hair styles on each occasion.
Beachy, natural and soft textured hair is Brett’s signature style. However, he is always up for a challenge and gets excited to learn and try out new hair styles.
Senior Stylist – Carl
From the early age of 16, Carl started his apprenticeship at Toni&Guy in Birmingham, the heart of England. After 3 long years of training he went on to become a cutting specialist at the prestigious London’s Toni&Guy academy.
Yearning to learn more, Carl continued gaining skills and hairdressing experience from London’s industry leaders by working in high end salons. Today Carl specialises in multi-dimensional colour, highlighting, modern and classic hair designs and hair care for men and women.
His in-depth understanding of hair and skill has been acknowledged within the industry by Carl becoming the regional finalist at prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy Women’s awards in 2013, Wella Trend Vision in 2014, and L’Oreal Colour Trophy Men’s awards in 2015. After 10 years of hard earned experience within the industry, he felt the need for a new challenge in his life and decided to devote his passion in Australia where he is now currently residing.
Carl can be described as ambitious, hardworking and possessing knowledge of industry. He takes pride in offering his clients the most current updated looks and personalised education on proper product usage. Carl is committed to continuing his education, so he can be the best he can be, which is very important to him.
